You Can't Supplement Your Way Out of Disobedience

Red light therapy won't fix your junk food habit.

We’ve made health way more complicated than it needs to be.

Scroll Instagram for 30 seconds and you’ll think you need a cold plunge, an IV drip, and a $600 red light panel just to function. But let me tell you something that might save you time, money, and a whole lot of frustration:

None of that stuff matters if you’re ignoring the basics.

There’s an old analogy about big rocks and little rocks. Picture a jar. If you try to fill it with pebbles and sand first, there won’t be any room left for the big rocks. But if you start with the big rocks, the small stuff can fit around them.

In health, the big rocks are simple:

  • 💤 Sleep

  • 🍳 Nutrition

  • 🏋🏽‍♀️ Training

  • 🚶🏽‍♂️ Daily movement

If you just focused on those four, you’d solve 90% of your health problems. That’s not an exaggeration.

But we’re addicted to hacks.
We want the shortcut.
We want the pill, the powder, the patch, the protocol.

And the enemy loves it—because it keeps us distracted, broke, and sick.

🔑 What Are You Actually Stewarding?

Let’s get biblical for a second.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
—1 Corinthians 10:31

This isn’t about vanity metrics or biohacking your way to abs. This is about obedience.
You were given a body. You were called to steward it. And if you’re spending $300/month on supplements but can’t commit to a regular bedtime or a daily walk, you’re not stewarding well.

We love to complicate what God made simple.

“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
—1 Corinthians 14:33

Health is not confusing. We’ve just made it confusing by prioritizing the wrong things.

❌ The Little Rocks

Here’s what doesn’t matter if your big rocks are a mess:

  • Red light therapy

  • Cold plunges

  • IV drips

  • $80 protein powders

  • Exact macronutrient ratios

  • Workout splits

  • Oura rings

  • Saunas

  • Greens powders

None of these are bad. But they’re not the foundation. They’re the garnish. The accessories. They can support health, but they can’t replace it.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
—Psalm 127:1

You can try to build your whole life on hacks and gadgets, but it’ll crumble if you neglect the basics God hardwired into your biology.

✅ What You Should Be Focusing On

1. Go to bed at the same time every night.
God designed us for rhythm. Respecting your circadian clock isn’t optional. (Genesis 1:14)

2. Eat real food that grows or grazes.
If God made it, eat it. If man manipulated it, leave it. (Genesis 1:29, Proverbs 23:20-21)

3. Lift heavy things and move often.
Adam didn’t sit at a desk all day. He worked in the garden. We were made for labor, not lounging. (Genesis 2:15)

4. Walk daily. Touch grass. See sunlight.
There’s no supplement that replaces fresh air and morning light. Nature is therapy because God made it that way. (Psalm 19:1, Romans 1:20)

💥 Stop Wasting Time and Money

If you're not:

  • Sleeping at least 7 hours

  • Cooking real meals at home

  • Strength training 2-4x/week

  • Walking daily

Then you have no business worrying about creatine, carb cycling, or contrast therapy.

This isn’t to shame you. It’s to free you.
You don’t need to buy more stuff. You need to simplify.
You don’t need more information. You need more discipline.

“A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”
—Proverbs 25:28

🙏 Obedience Over Optimization

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about being healthy.
This is about being available. Alert. Equipped. Energized.
Because God has work for you to do, and you can’t do it from a place of fatigue, brain fog, or chronic inflammation.

So stop micromanaging the little stuff.
Start building your foundation.

And let your health be a byproduct of obedience, not a product of obsession.
