Stop Flushing Your Money Down the “Detox” Drain
Your liver doesn’t need chlorophyll water. It needs light, minerals, movement, and rest

Let’s talk about the word detox.
It used to mean something.
Now it’s influencer code for “buy my overpriced powder so I can keep posting lifestyle reels.”
The detox industry has turned into a parody of itself.
There’s a cleanse for everything—sugar, parasites, heavy metals, seed oils, “emotions,” and even your ex-boyfriend’s energy. (Yes, really.)
Here’s the part no one’s telling you:
You don’t detox by adding more stuff.
You detox by getting your body to work the way God designed it to.
Your body is not a toilet.
The wellness world treats you like a clogged pipe.
Flush this. Drain that. Push this binder. Add this tincture.
But you’re not full of sludge just waiting for an expensive herbal drain cleaner.
You are not a kitchen sink.
You are a living, breathing, electrical system.
True detox happens when your body is charged—yes, like a battery.
Your cells run on electrical energy made by your mitochondria, those tiny engines inside every cell. They take food, water, oxygen, and light, and turn them into the power that runs every system in your body.
When those engines are strong, cleanup is constant.
When they’re weak, waste piles up, signals get scrambled, and everything slows down.
Even glutathione isn’t magic.
Influencers love to talk about glutathione like it’s the holy grail of detox.
Yes, it’s an antioxidant. Yes, it helps your body balance toxins.
But it’s useless without healthy mitochondria and enough NADPH to power it.
And guess what fuels those?
Light. Movement. Minerals. Sleep. Real food.
Not gummies. Not “detox drops.” Not shots of charcoal lemonade.
And now… parasite cleanses.
This is where the nonsense reaches Olympic level.
People are dropping $150 or more on “parasite detox kits” that are basically fancy cocktail bitters. Some ingredients, like clove or wormwood, do have traditional uses—but not in the doses they’re using. And the rest? Marketing filler.
Then there are the “ropeworm” photos.
Let’s clear this up: That’s not a parasite. It’s mucus and plant fiber.
It’s the psyllium husk you just paid $50 for, coming back to say hello. You didn’t poop out a snake. You got played.
Proverbs 14:15 says, “The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.”
Let’s not be simple.
True detox starts with God’s design.
You were made in His image with systems of repair, renewal, and regeneration already built in.
But those systems break down when you ignore the way He designed you to live.
☀️ Light matters. Morning sunlight charges your cells and resets your internal clock.
🚶♀️ Movement matters. Your lymph system doesn’t have a pump. You are the pump.
🧂 Minerals matter. They carry the electrical signals that keep your body running.
😴 Sleep matters. Your brain has a pressure washer that only kicks on at night.
🥩 Real food matters. God’s food fuels repair. Fake food confuses the system.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
That includes what you eat, how you rest, and what kind of nonsense you stop buying.
You can’t force detox. You can only support it.
The truth is simple:
You don’t “do” detox. You restore function, and detox happens as a natural result.
If you still think health comes in a box, you’ll keep falling for gimmicks.
God didn’t design your body to depend on binders and Instagram kits.
He gave you mitochondria.
He gave you light.
He gave you movement.
He gave you wisdom.
Stop outsourcing what He’s already built into you.
